Julia Neckermann currently is the Associate Concertmaster and an Artist In Residence with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. She is the first violinist in the Burdick Thorne String quartet, and plays actively with her trio. Previous positions include Acting Associate Concertmaster, Acting Principal Second violin, and section first violin with the Louisville Orchestra.

Julia holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music, and Rice University. She has performed as as soloist with the National Repertory Orchestra, the Louisville Orchestra, and the Kalamazoo Symphony.  She is an NEMC alumna and taught 1997 - 2002, and then from 2006 - present.
